Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the company. Corcoran has been a part of 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. She has been involved in 53 deals as of February, 2020. The largest was a $350,000 investment to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second child of 10 in a working class Irish-Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a skilled worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. Her family sometimes depended on free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran remembers her father, one who would drink too much and treated her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had some drinks. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education and later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary and then started high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
